Stability of particle laden interfaces of drops flowing through a pore

چکیده
In applications such as water treatment or oil extraction, drops suspended in an aqueous fluid are injected a porous medium. If their surfaces laden with solid particles, the may lose integrity when they pass through narrow pores. We study condition for expulsion of particles experiments which Pickering made to flow constricted capillary tube. show key parameters both thickness lubricating film between drop and tube geometrical constraints exerted by on drop.

Buckling of particle-laden interfaces.
In this paper, we investigate the buckling of an oil-water interface populated by micron-sized latex particles using a Langmuir trough. In this work, we extend results of buckling of particle-laden interfaces from the millimeter down to the submicron range while investigating the effect of a different capillary length on the resulting wavelength. The experimental data is compared to the existin...
متن کاملFilm climbing of particle-laden interfaces
Recent experiments have shown that coalescence of an oil/water/nanoparticle Pickering emulsion contained in a vial induces a nanoparticle-film o climb up the walls of the vial. Here we show that this phenomenon is highly general and can be induced by a variety of particle types, particle izes ranging from a few nm to a few m, and different emulsion types. Many of the features of film growth des...

Recent experiments [Zhou, Dupuy, Bertozzi, and Hosoi, Phys. Rev. Lett., 94 (2005)] of particle-laden film flow on an incline demonstrate new behavior distinct from the well-known clear fluid case, including the formation of a particle-rich ridge which can stabilize the advancing contact line with respect to “fingering” perturbations. We consider a model similar to that of Zhou et al. with the a...

Background: Enzyme engineering by immobilization techniques has proven to be well compatible with the other chemical or biological approaches aiming to improve enzyme’s functions and stability. Zeolites are porous alumino-silicates with a wide range of porosity and particle size along with the other remarkable properties such as high surface area, high stability against a wide range temperature...
